Creative Studio Menu of Services

This Menu of Services is used as a resource and business development tool, to help both staff and clients better understand the many services the in-house design and web development team offers. It was designed as a fresh take on a diner menu.

Stumptown Summer Market Promotional Materials

I was hired by Stumptown Coffee Roasters to create marketing materials for their Seattle cafe's Summer Market. The market featured local creatives and vendors, live music, delicious food, and of course, coffee. With these promotional materials - a flyer, poster, Facebook event page and Instagram imagery - I wanted to distill the feeling of a hipster's summer pool party. I used abstract shapes alluding to wavy water and beach balls or the hot summer sun and added a wave like effect to the header text throughout, adding a sense of movement and fun. Additionally, I filmed and edited a video of the event, which can be found on my video page.

Sound Transit 3 campaign

This mailer was the centerpiece of the Sound Transit 3 outreach campaign and was sent to addresses around the Puget Sound region. I designed the hero image, a light rail platform scene, to encourage the viewer to consider where light rail could take them in the future. I implemented this image across an array of formats including, display ads of varying sizes, a poster, social media ads, and website hero image.

Vera Pash Photo Logo

Vera Pashkevich's photography is visually rich. She uses light, composition, and a careful consideration of color saturation and contrast in her work. I wanted to create a logo for her photography business that captured the drama of her photos while not detracting from them. Included here is the logo she selected and a couple other concepts. See Vera's website here.

Dream Kitchen

This is a study in texture, color, and composition. Inspired by the light-filled airiness and natural elements of Scandinavian interior design, I illustrated a corner of my dream kitchen, paying close attention to wooden textures in combination with hand-drawn lines. Pyrex mixing bowls, ample houseplants, natural-light, subway tile, marble countertops, and a fresh pot of tea are among the many elements my dream kitchen consists of.

Tea Party Invitation suite

My client wanted an invite that had mid-century flair. The end products turned out to be equal parts original Barbie and equal parts Sally Draper. There's something about a tea party that brings out your inner girl. I used two 1960's era fonts, and elegant sans serif for the details, something you might see on a vintage perfume bottle sitting on your grandmother's vanity. The other was a cursive display font for the headlines, again another nod to grandma and the lost art of cursive handwriting. I contrast this elegance with a little edge using screen print textures throughout.

Wooded Wedding Invitation Suite

These two grooms wanted an invitation that spoke to their current Pacific Northwest roots: it needed to be natural yet modern, more masculine over rustic. I created the look and feel for this invite suite with this laid-back PNW attitude in mind, using a simple color scheme of kraft paper, white and a dark navy-hued grey, combined with a linear woodgrain. I tried to capture the couple's personalities within the copy writing as well, keeping it casual and fun, just like them.

The Balanced Berry Logo

The cornerstone of The Balanced Berry brand is the approachable atmosphere, founder Lestraundra Alfred creates with her workout regimens and delicious recipes. I wanted that feeling to be the centerpiece of this logo. Using a textured, handwritten typeface paired with a bold sans serif gives this logo a friendly vibe with ample visual boldness. Diagonally positioned text gives the composition a sense of movement, paired with a few drops of sweat, a nod to a good sweat-inducing work out. Other concepts presented to Les are included here as well.

Holiday card

I illustrated common holiday phrases into word puzzle pictograms for a company holiday card. I took inspiration from the flat design of Scandinavian folk illustrations. Can you crack the code?

Anatomy of a Pursuit infographic

The Anatomy of a Pursuit chronicles the process of business development within the company, EnviroIssues.  I incorporated anatomical iconography to convey that each step is one small piece of a greater objective, which in this case is acquiring new business.
